Fencing at Roswell High School runs from August until February. Our first meeting will be Wednesday August 9th at 4:00pm. We will hold practice every Wednesday after school from 4:00 -6:30. Fencers will have the opportunity to fence against fencers from other schools in several tournaments throughout the season. See 'Tournament Schedule' above for a complete list of dates and locations. All new fencers must complete and submit the required forms in order to participate. Please click the "More" tab above to access those forms.
In addition to our weekly practices, any Fencer who wants extra practice can also take lessons with Coach Vail at Dunwoody Fencing Club, http://www.dunwoodyfencingclub.com/. Dunwoody Fencing is located just down the street from RHS, in the shopping center across from Pike's. This is not a requirement for the RHS Fencing Team.
Parents, you are an important part of our Fencing Team, and you can be as involved as you would like to be. We need parents to donate or bake items for our concession stand at our home tournament. You can even be a Referee on the floor at the matches! To be a Referee you must attend a clinic to be trained. Ask Coach Vail to help you find the next scheduled clinic.
Dues vary slightly, depending on how many fencers we have on the team, but typically they are $375 for the year. This is to cover our GHSFL dues, out Tournament fees, insurance, coaching fees, t shirts, socks, patches, end of year party, etc. Dues must be current for a Fencer to participate in a Tournament.
Dues for the 2017-2018 season will be $375.00 and will be due by August 16th.
All required forms are due by August 16th.
